And... GO!

Hello Dear Readers,

So this is my official blog to document the bike across America trip that I will be taking this summer through Bike and Build. First off I just want to say THANK YOU to all of you wonderful donors out there. I have reached my $4,000 goal and I owe it all to you! Of course, I am still raising more so feel free to donate still!

I will hopefully be posting blogs and photos all summer to keep you up to date on all my happenings, sore muscles, tears, and sweat. All of which you can see here! Read what you will.

So the start of the beginning has finally begun. We have our bikes, we have some miles under our belts, and we completed our first "sweat equity" requirement on Friday. We got kind of lost riding our bikes there and it took about twice as long as it should have, but we eventually made it to the Habitat Site at 31 Ashton St near Mattapan, MA. It was a lot of fun and it got me super psyched for this summer.

Then, the next day we joined our friends Megan and Susan in Relay for Life. I had to work until 11 so I was quite a bit late but after that I joined them in a walk-a-thon that went from 6pm to 6am. It was a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society and an astonishing amount was raised from it. (Of course I can't remember the number but it is probably somewhere on their website...)

It was a lot of fun and I was surprisingly not that tired by the end of it. We made it out just in time to see the sunrise, and a beautiful one it was...

So stay tuned! There are many exciting adventures to come! Thanks for reading!
